U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- Senior Airmen Christopher Ingle (left), 21st Civil Engineer Squadron fire department pulls a 175 pound dummy during a “Rumble in the Rockies” relay challenge June 26 at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Six Peterson firefighters competed in the two day event with several of their civilian counterparts. According to another local competitor, Sergeant Burmeister, 21st CES fire department, “Rumble in the Rockies” is designed to test firefighter skills and strengths with multiple timed contests. John Silverman, the new 21st Force Support Squadron commander, during a change of command ceremony July 15. Joe White, Embassy Lawn and Landscaping Inc. pest controller, measures the wind speed near the FAA control tower July 1. The landscaping company purchased three Speed Tech Skymate SM-8 Windmeters that measure wind speed, to prevent herbicides from drifting and possibly harming personnel and vegetation.
