PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Firefighters from the 21st Civil Engineer Squadron fire department prepare to enter a structural training facility. Fire fighters used this training to practice different firefighting techniques and spray patterns, and are able to see first-hand how effective it is on a fire. Firefighters require at least 300 gallons of water per minute from a line when fighting a fire. The silver proximity gear reflects heat and is used primarily for aircraft fires but can be used in other fire situations. The gold suit is used to fight structural fires.
