CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT JACOB C. SIMMONS

Chief Master Sgt. Jacob C. Simmons is the Command Chief Master Sergeant of the 21st Space Wing, Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. He serves as the principal advisor to the commander of one of the Air Force's largest wings, geographically and organizationally, with 40 units at 34 locations. The wing consists of approximately 4,300 military, civilian and contract employees. Spanning the globe, this team provides missile warning and space control for combat forces and the national command authorities of the United States and Canada. He personally advises the commander and senior staff on military readiness, morale, quality of life and professional development and management of over 3,200 enlisted members.

 

Chief Master Sgt. Simmons entered the Air Force on May 1, 1992. He has served in a variety of progressively responsible positions at squadron, group, major command and air staff, as well as joint and multi-national duty within United States Southern Command, Air Force Space Command, United States Strategic Command and North American Aerospace Defense Command. He has significant career field leadership and enlisted professional development experience and an extensive background in leveraging strategic and tactical space capabilities and effects. Chief Master Sgt. Simmons’ broad range and depth of aerospace expertise includes: Global Missile Warning and Homeland Defense, Space Control Systems, Military Satellite Communications, Global Positioning System, Operational Test and Evaluation, formal education and training, Aerospace Control and Warning Systems Drug Interdiction and Range Control operations, and manpower and assignment management. Prior to his current position, the chief was the Command Chief of the 461st Air Control Wing, Robins AFB, Ga.
