    Hurricane Maria, a Category 5 storm with sustained winds of 64 miles per hour and gusts of 113 mph, hit Muniz Air National Guard Base, Puerto Rico Sept. 20, 2017, causing widespread damage. Recovery help was desperately needed.

    On July 28, 2016 one of the worst hailstorms in the history of Colorado Springs swept across the city leaving massive destruction in its path. Peterson Air Force Base was in that path.

    The year is 1963. Thousands of people are marching together in Washington, D.C. to participate in the nationwide struggle for civil rights and equality. Police officials and national guardsman stood alongside the march to mitigate the potential violence.
  • Team Pete Airman selected for Air Force wrestling team tryouts

    Senior Airman Christen Hunt, 21st Medical Group, health service management, family health, is competing at the 2018 All-Air Force Wrestling Trial Camp at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, from Jan. 3-21, in hopes of representing Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado. If he wins he will represent the Air Force at the Armed Forces Championship at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, in February.
